Hello. I am a 20 year teacher from Hudson County Schools of Technology in North Bergen. I presently teach 9-12 Social Studies at an academy within HCST, the Academy for Architectural and Contemporary Themes, and recently was informed about your grant. In the 2006-2007 school year I enrolled as a teacher’s assistant in a Podcasting class from New Jersey City University along with a dozen of my students. We all loved it and everyone passed the course with flying colors. I was thrilled at how well I did especially since I didn’t even know what a podcast was prior to taking this course. I want to do more with podcasting in my class this year and possibly this grant could assist. I am very serious about teaching – I’ve won Teacher of the Year for the district twice, the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, and was honored last year by the local newspaper as an “Everyday Hero in Education”. I would love to incorporate podcasting into my classes as another tool to grap the students’interest. I will research applying for this grant. Please feel free to contact me. My number is 201-334-7999. Thanks. Gerald Lyons
